What is the mission of Coastline Charcoal?
Coastline Charcoal is committed to creating, supporting, fostering, and growing the vision of clean and healthy coastlines across the world! This includes (but is not limited to), ocean clean up, beach clean up, healthy marine life, healthy coastal vegetation, water quality, and so much more! We started coastline charcoal to give back to the coast a fraction of what it has given to us! Also, who doesn't love happy healthy sea critters? We sure do!
Why is your business called "Coastline Charcoal"?
Our business was originally inspired by the coastlines in California's Bay Area! This special place has always played a huge role in our lives, and periodic visits there only solidified that love! This love combined with a love for all sea life launched an idea. Perhaps we could start a business with images created from all the lovely items this area has to offer, while donating when we can to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, to protect and preserve this space! Although we hold this particular area near and dear to our hearts, all coastlines deserve love, hence we chose to "un-locate" the area in the title of our name "Coastline." As for "Charcoal", we understand that not all charcoal is eco-friendly. That's why our charcoal is always ethically sourced, or recycled. We like to look at it as cleaning the coast while creating art in the process!
Do the art pieces you sell change?
Yes! Our products displayed on our site change frequently! We display 15 options of paintings at a time in our shop, however, if you are curious to see more, head over to the portfolio section. From there you will find hundreds of other pieces, that will rotate and make their way to our shop as time goes on. You can also view the latest pieces, and see what we've been up to creating at Coastline Charcoal!

Is Your Business Eco-Friendly?
We strive to turn vision into reality, by donating to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We stand behind their mission and feel it encompasses all that we're about! Feel free to check them out at this link!
We use recycled paper mailers, recycled cardboard backing for our prints and originals, recyclable packaging materials, and we use brown paper instead of plastic or styrofoam for padding. Whenever something arrives to you encased in bubble wrap, it has been upcycled. We also do not ship invoices, to cut down on paper waste.
Our charcoal is always organic, all-natural, free from additives and chemicals, and either ethically sourced or upcycled. Sometimes we use charcoal that is "smoke-free", therefore, not releasing toxic substances into the air.
We utilize only eco-friendly, non-toxic watercolors for our paint. For most of our vegetation and floral paintings, our unique element comes from extracting the natural pigment out of the source of the subject in which we are painting. For example, blueberries are painted from the pigment in the skin of the fruit. Watercolor is always added to each painting as well, and the only vegetation paintings we do not paint from the subject's source are items high in acidity. This includes lemons, tomatoes, limes, etc. We exclude these sources, as the acidity tends to disintegrate the paper, (trial and error!)
Although we do our best to respect the planet, more can always be done!
Do You Offer Custom Orders?
At this time, we are not accepting custom orders. We love to do them, however, they take an incredible amount of time to complete. We are in the process of adding several new products to our site in the coming months! Currently, our energy is being spent on those. Stay tuned!
Can I Buy an Original?
Yes, on occasion, we sell originals! Originals are not often sold as our business focuses primarily on prints, however, the products on our website are always changing. Sometimes we sell originals along with prints for sale and sometimes we sell single one-of-a-kind originals with no prints being manufactured. The website will specify each painting's circumstance. We will always make an announcement on Instagram and other social media platforms if an original is going to be displayed for sale on our website. If you notice an original or print from a past Instagram post, but no longer see it on our website, message us directly through the contact form. We will check the availability and reach out to you!
Will You Sign My Print or Original?
Sure we will "sign" your artwork! Please note, that our artwork is not numbered, and we do not have "Limited Editions." We only "sign" our prints with our logo, as seen in the photos displayed in the shop. The Coastline Charcoal logo is in the lower right corner of all paintings displayed on our website. This logo does not appear on the item that we send you unless you specify otherwise. If you would like a version of your print to include the logo on the front, please contact us immediately through our contact form after your purchase has been placed. Please specifically request all pieces you would like our logo to be added to. Thank you!

Coastline Charcoal retains all rights to reproduce your painting, including but not limited to apparel, stickers, prints, clothing and more! All pieces created at Coastline Charcoal hold the copyright to the artist of Coastline Charcoal from the moment of creation. Thank you for understanding!
